I read that historic downtown Savannah was voted “the most beautiful city in America” by a French magazine. It`s almost spot on– the charming park squares every few blocks, the mossy oaks that extend their branches over the roads… the ivy growing up the trees. I sit on a bench in one of the parks to look at all and first the ants come gather at my feet. At least three different kinds. Then there are the mosquitos buzzing at my ear in down my shirt (the two places I didn`t spray the Off). Then a small white spider falls on me. Within in minutes I`m under attack by teeny tiny insects. I flick them off as best I can, and after five minutes I get up from my bench in pretty park.
